Our 'Mind Leaders' series of workshops for team leaders and managers brings together neuroscience, psychology and employment law to provide team leaders and managers with practical strategies for engaging and managing people. Team Building Workshop Using the DiSC Profile

DiSC is a personal development assessment that measures an individual's behavioural style. This full-day workshop includes an individual DiSC profile for each participant. The workshop assists participants to understand their own behaviour, the behaviour of others and how to use this knowledge in different work situations.

Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. In the work environment it encourages a culture of peer support. Participants also have an opportunity to become an accredited 'MHFAider' on completion of the course. The course consists of four 3-hour modules that can be delivered over a flexible timeframe to suit your workplace. Introduction to Mental Health

This practical and interactive half-day workshop introduces staff to common mental health conditions and assists them to develop the skills to support each other in the workplace. Participants will learn about the early warning signs of different mental health problems; how to approach a person in a supportive and appropriate way to talk about their wellbeing; and options for how the person can access assistance.

Mental Health First Aid for the Suicidal Person

Openly talking about suicidal thoughts and feelings can save a life. However, many people are unsure about the best way to approach someone who may be suicidal. This is where the four-hour Mental Health First Aid for the Suicidal Person course can help. Participants will learn accurate information about suicide rates and risk factors in the Australian context; signs that a person may be suicidal; how to ask about thoughts of suicide; what you can do to help keep the person safe; and how to assist the person to access professional help. Self-Care: Managing Trauma Exposure Response

Many professions are exposed to the difficult and traumatic experiences of other people, either verbally or through reading accounts of what has occurred. It can be easy to underestimate how, over time, this can impact on your sense of safety and wellbeing in the world. This half-day workshop explores the concept of trauma exposure response, and provides some practical strategies for how you can look after yourself when doing this work.

Substance Abuse & the Workplace

This half-day workshop provides an overview of substance abuse in Australia, and assists participants to identify the early warning signs of a substance abuse problem in the workplace. Best practice recommendations for workplace drug and alcohol interventions will also be discussed. This is an interactive workshop that utilises relevant case studies to assist participants to apply learning to their context.
